I was looking for a new mic project and picked up a JT-30 (looks to be a mid/late 30's model) with an element in it. I honestly did not expect the element to even work, however it works and works quite nicely! Sounds pretty comparable to the Astatic element in the mic I built a couple years ago and have been enjoying.
With that said, I'm guessing that it is a similar type/construction element (based on the sound and the fact that it sounds nearly the same through the same amp, and with the same wiring). I'd like to add a volume pot to it, and thought I could start with the same style pot that I put in my other mic, but if anyone had any specs on this element so I could eliminate the guesswork, I'd much obliged.

Part of me hopes this one is a ceramic element as the element in my other mic is a vintage crystal element.
I also dug through my parts bin and found a 500k pot that I think might be a match for it (don't know if linear or other) Its a B500Kohm pot. Might wire it up and see how it works.
