I'm going to a friend's Halloween gig, and will sit in on a few songs. I was hoping to go as Guy Fawkes, a la "V for Vendetta", but wouldn't be able to play without taking the mask off. I may be able to modify the mask to make it work, but that's a stretch. So I wondered if you all had any good ideas for cool harp friendly costumes?
We did a Halloween gig and I dressed as Anges from AC/DC. Little cap, shorts, white shirt, jacket, tie, white socks, and black shoes. Worked great. Even learned some of his moves...lol ---------- www.facebook.com/catfishfryeband

I dressed up as a voodoo witch doctor with a half skull mask covering the top half of my face. Underneath i had put temporary tattoos on my face, so when I took it of when I got unbearably hot, it was a cool surprise and i was still in costume.
Mlefree, one of my friends looks a lot like Popper (well, Popper has lost weight and my friend has gained it, but he looked like him at one point.) Anyway, he was at a concert (that last Woodstock one a few years back) and someone walked up to him and said, 'Hey, I know you, you're Jon!' Well, that happens to be my friend's name, so he said yes. The guy starts screaming, 'Hey, it's Jon, it's Jon' and even announcing it over his walkie talkie. 'It's Jon, that guy from Blues Traveler's, John Popper'
So a crowd is starting to form and my friend Jon decides he needs to think fast. He tells the guy to be quiet, that he doesn't want to get mobbed, but if he gets up near the front of the stage for Metallica he'll pull him up on stage with him. (Wow! John Popper is going to be playing with Metallica!)
That gets my friend far enough away to he doesn't get crushed. Funny thing is though, my friend's brother is watching it on MTV and they report a rumor they'd heard that John Popper was going to be playing with Metallica!
Of course, he didn't, but another one of my friends eventually did get to run into Popper after one of his shows and tell him the story about why there was a rumor about him maybe doing a set with Metallica. :)
Back to Halloween, how about Frankenstein, but use the bolts in the side of your head to mount a harp rack? ---------- Nate Facebook Thread Organizer (A list of all sorts of useful threads)
Funny story, Nate! (BTW, if y'all would, please call me Michelle 8^) )
Another idea. It's a little dated so younger audiences may not get it but as an old hippie I've always liked the R. Crumb comic character, "Mr. Natural." He even played harp.
I get enough of a kick out of it that I had a take-off on it applied as my first tattoo right before SPAH. I call it Ms. Natural for obvious reasons.
Anyway Mr. Natural would be an easy costume and a few of us old farts would get it.
