Very cool. It's an "Electromonica" microphone utilizing the holy grail of crystals, the Shure R7. I lucked into one of those on ebay a couple of years ago that had a strong element. I put the element in my Rion bullet mic and use it regularly. I then put a Japanese crystal in the Electromonica so that it would at least function. I believe they were designed for chromatics and some of them have a volume pot built in. I've even seen one that had two crystals in the housing. I've seen them in catalogs from the late 50's and expect that's the vintage of yours. Love the sparkly red plastic. I Wonder if her father ever played it out with a band?

thank you for all the info i had no idea where to look..... electromonica
it has a candy apple red metal flake plastic
i was thinking early sixties. she said it was purchased right down the street in 1947
it has inserts for both chromatic and diatonic. it still has output
not sure how strong it is yet, it needs to be carefully re-soldered.
it is a shure 99-A 94
