This is some great stuff. It held my interest the whole way. I love the way that, having mastered the tradition, they're able to move in so many directions, all within the framework of one particular Little Walter-specific groove.
It helps to have a great rhythm section. The drummer creates a swinging space with big pockets where all sort of harp creativity can flower.
Yeah great stuff as said really grooving with excellent rhythm section and Johnny Cat (I think that's right) is a good guitarist. I like to hear harp fill's and call and response behind and with the guitarist soloing.
These fellas are so comfortable with each other, they remind me of a favourite pair of shoes. One doesn't shine without the other, but together they move the me to another dimension, seemingly without trying. It's days like this when I've been frustrating myself trying to make"Blues with a feeling'" sound good and then, I listened to this. Inspiring to say the least. Because the choice is; either throw away all my harps or; just practise a helluva lot more. You know I chose the latter. Thankyou, Adam. ----------
Mike Phillips on bass, Theron Peterson on drums, Johnny Cat Soubrand on guitar. Of course, Aki Kumar and Dave Barrett on harp. ---------- Marc Graci YouTube Channel
