Thought you guys might appreciate this compilation of video footage I shot with my phone the other night at Vonnies Blues Club in Cheltenham, UK. The fantastic Mud Morganfield with his UK band featuring the awesome Steve 'West' Weston on harp. Enjoy!
Never gets boring or dated when it's played as well these cats. when is Steve Weston going to bring out his own CD?

I spoke to Steve after the gig and he said his CD is recorded and should be coming out soon. Keep an eye on his Facebook page for updates. I have to say, what a great guy, happy to spend time talking harp and sharing some neat little tips and techniques.
Interestingly he was playing through a stock Fender Hot Rod Deville and was using a JT30 in which he'd fitted the element that comes in the modern 520DX. Not at all the rig you'd expect but I can tell you he sounded fantastic. He does have great acoustic tone though. He was also using at least one kinder anti-feedback pedal (I'm pretty sure he told me he used two) and a delay pedal.
Steve plays Marine Bands which he customizes himself and re-tunes to the old marine band tuning.
The rest of the band were fabulous as well and Mud himself was an absolute pleasure to listen to.
@marine1896 - I asked him that and he said not so much at the moment because he's been having trouble getting hold of the screws. His custom Marine Bands were always fantastic value though.
I'm pretty sure he said he used two anti-feedback pedals but I don't know if both were Kinders. It's possible I could have misheard though. Perhaps two is better than one when it comes to combating feedback?
For my money Steve is the UK's finest harp player. He's also a great bloke with a lot of knowledge and he happily shares it. He's also a killer piano player.

In the west coast,Piazza,Wilson trad style yep I agree...but as for overall blues harmonica I dunno IMO there's Lyndon Anderson and Lee Sankey although not my style of blues per se they play stuff that really get's you listening to what they are playing. But you know it's all good. But, just to add to that as music is very, very subjective if I lived in or very near the smoke I would be at a every gig that Steve Weston did...that shit will never get old to my ears!!!

Great stuff. Agree with everything said about Steve Weston, and the band sounds great!
I am playing a support slot (with The Pete Harris Trio) tonight at the 1865 Club in Southampton in case anyone is reading is nearby. Should be a great evening.
Hi JonV. I only heard of The Pete Harris Trio a few weeks back when Oxharp posted some videos on Facebook. You're a damn fine player yourself. Do you only play round the South Coast or do you venture further afield? Would love to come and see you play.
I really like Steve's first position play in Baby I Want To Be Loved. Steve sits out during the bridge which is mainly IV chord. Anyone have a approach and/or recording for the bridge in first pos?
Steve is a friend of mine and - for that old-school trad sound - I don't hear anybody doing it better in the UK. Here's an interview I conducted with him recently:

Hi Jim, on this number, full tone bend on 2d, 2b 1b? 2d straight/6b on the stop? Bent 2 draw, 5draw, or 2&5 draw chord would usually be the root over the bridge ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness
