This video turns up every couple of years on harp and blues sites ,but thats Ok ,personally i never get tired of it.
About 3.20 you can see Hounddogs polydactylism.
They all look a bit uncomfortable, bright lights a room full of white folk and not a drink in sight. Not quite a Chicago juke joint.
There a lot of stories on the net about this particular Gig..L/W wasn't too happy with the set up etc.

yeah, i think anyone who's been around for a bit has seen this clip plenty.

Walter's a little hotter in the mix than he probably should be but I don't mind at all haha.

I understand there's some more LW video out there but the owner refuses to release it for some reason. Aint that a cryin' shame!!

I first saw this bout 10 years ago and at the time this was released, it had been thought that there wasn't any video of him at all available. The backing band is Hound Dog Taylor on guitar, Dillard Crume on bass and Odie Payne Sr. on drums. LW absolutely HATED Hound Dog's playing and in the LW bio, one of the reasons was that on one gig, LW was playing a tune in F (as was the rest of the band), but Hound Dog couldn't play in that key at all. Hound Dog's guitar was almost always tuned to an open D chord, which is fine for the Elmore James influenced slide guitar style that he played, but on many of the tunes LW played, Hound Dog was clearly not a good enough guitarist to cut those tunes because some of the chord voicings that LW's guitar players like Robert Jr. Lockwood, Louis Myers or Luther Tucker used, which were much more sophisticated than what Hound Dog could manage, HD just couldn't cut it at all plus he only played in certain keys and I can understand why LW wasn't thrilled to have Hound Dog backing him because oh HD's limitations.

It sounds to me that Walter is all over the Dog's vocal and guitar part.

Bob's right- HD does his own thing and its not the kind of style that backs others up well

Great to see Koko young and sexy

This is what Hound does best ( I bet Lonesome George watched this a bunch of times )

I don't think Little Walter's playing is exceptional in this video. I think the real highlight is Koko's singing in the second part. She really could belt the blues with awesome tone and feeling!
