It's funny how songs evolve. I wrote this one a while back, and somehow lost a couple verses, but I stumbled on this old recording from one of our songwriter's circles, and I like it better than what we've done with it since. There's no harp. I think that's Mike on guitar. Sorry for the extraneous sounds in the background. I'm thinking about dusting it off and putting it back in the set list. (That's also Mike at the end with the goofy comment.) Don't think I've posted this here before.
I wish I played a bit of guitar. The lyrics are sort of a response to Come On In My Kitchen, written from the perspective of the guy who 'got lucky' and stole her back again'.
edit- also, anyone have any ideas for the one line- "she still smells, she still smells like my cologne" I can't figure out what to do with the pause; it just lingers there, 'she still smells... since I'm getting around to saying she smells like his cologne I don't want to leave a line hanging there just saying 'she smells'. Kind of ruins the seriousness of the line.
