I'm looking for a referral, folks. For various reasons, I've decided that it's time to find myself an entertainment lawyer who specializes in music--the sort of issues that musicians traffic in.

If you've ever tried to find a lawyer by googling "music lawyer" or "entertainment lawyer" and the name of the nearest big city, you know how challenging this project can be.

So I'm interested in a referral. If you've got a name, somebody you have used and/or can vouch for, please contact me off-line (asgussow at aol dot com) and tell me a little about the person. I'm particularly interested in the sort of work that the lawyer in question has performed for you.

And if you, the person reading this, happen to be a music lawyer, by all means make your pitch! Tell me who you are.

As for the thread: I would be delighted to have you share war stories and horror stories and success stories about the way that lawyers get mixed up in our business.

But for referrals, if ya got 'em: please contact me off-line.

Mr. James Hirsen is a music and entertainment industry attorney

In his previous life, he was the keyboard player for Temptations and he also blows a little harp, too.

Good guy and he does some television/media commentary on entertainment related matters.
