What is the amp you see in a lot of Gary Smiths Youtube vids? its sort of brown and cream tolex and the same shape as a Watkins Dominator (I'm sure it ain't one of those)or is a custom made body with with a sort Bassman guts stuck in it? It's just very, very cool looking but not looking for tons of amp advice I've had the chance since the 80's to play through a lot of amps and apart from the Harpking the only harp amps anyone would need are 59 Bassman or Fender Pro Junior (tweaked/modded) but that's just me!

It's a 90's (a 1990 I believe), Bassman RI in a custom cab. If you go on David Barrett's website. He talks about it in detail on the Bassman Chronicle's, under equipment.
Just talked to Mark O. It is one of Mark's modded RI Baseman's in a Weber cab. Gary has another that's similar that they call a ProLux which is basically a 5F4 Pro/Deluxe Reverb circuit with a Vintage Concert Output Transformer with 2-10's, 2-8's. Its a custom for sure!
There based on the old V front Fender's from the 50's. Gibson did something similar on their bigger amps. Not sure what Fender had in mind, even though it does change the angle of projection and looks cool.

Don't place too much stock in Gary's choice of equipment. That his equipment on that day. The guys uses different gear all the time. There was a period of time when he had a different amp every time that I saw him. He always sounds similar.
@Joe L; yeah I know the old 'he got his own tone through anything he plugs into'(although I have heard some top notch players play through different set up's and there was a bit of a difference) I was just curious about the amp and had always thought that the amp grill V shape would be different and cool I like the aesthetics of some amplifiers not a quest for amp tone/tone.
