This has got to be one of the coolest modern reinterpretations of a classic Blues song that I've ever come across: Moses Sumney doing "Moanin'" for a "Take Away Show", recorded by the great Parisian musicography group "La Blogotheque".
Not only is the song just really cool, the video and dialog are a really intimate portrait of what it's like to play music on the streets. Just a really cool video over all.
BTW, If you've never heard of La Blogotheque, or their Take Away Show series (Les Concerts a Emporter), it's worth spending a little time with their back catalog: http://www.blogotheque.net/serie/concert-a-emporter/. The gist is that they get bands to go out on the streets, or other cool public places, and to do stripped down versions of their songs live. They video these performances artsily, and with good sound. ----------
Just FYI, here's another recent "Take Away Show" that will likely appeal to folks here at MBH (no harp, but great singing and cool horns): St. Paul and the Broken Bones doing "It's Midnight.
