"Nic Clark plays the new Memphis Mini Blues Harp Delay Pedal. A warm sounding digital delay pedal built to our specs. The delay tails have a nice organic decay. True bypass, steel housing, very well built. Introductory selling price will be $69 with free shipping in USA.

I shot this video at Ziggies last night before the jam. The club is kind of dim and the camera is a little shaky and low res but the audio is good. This gives you a very good idea of the sound of the new MM Blues Harp Delay.

This is a great sounding delay for a player who wants to get his tone a little wet. I think less is more with delays (as with most effects). In this video the three controls (Level, Delay, and Repeat) are all set at the 9 o'clock position, giving the tone a nice fat slap-back sound. The pedal has the capacity to get more of a Space Echo sound if that is what you're into. The delay intervals can be dialed in from 25ms to 450ms.

As I mentioned above the pedal housing is steel. It feels very solid. The controls rotate smoothly with a good feel, and the On/Off button is hefty with a solid click. You can power it with a 9v battery or power supply, which are not included.

There are lots of delay pedals out there, some of which are way over-priced. This MM Delay is a lot like the Memphis Mini amp: It sounds great for a lot less money. It's a quality, no-nonsense addition to your rig that won't break your bank. $69 delivered is a very fair price.

The MM Delay pedal is made for us in a factory in Shenzhen China, near Hong Kong. This same factory makes some of the components for the MM amp, so we have a long relationship with them. I am happy with the tone and build quality of the pedal.

We don't have a firm roll-out date for the MM Delay yet. We will probably start taking pre-orders soon at the website. Of course, a lot of interest in the pedal will hasten the introduction. Let me know if you like the sound and the concept."

I'd probably get one, but I have a much more expensive delay that does the job I want. And...yeah, I like delay but I like reverb too and it's just easier to turn the knob on an amp than plug in a pedal. I'm so lazy...one of these days I just won't bother turning up

LW is over twice the price of this one i think. i have been using it for about 5 years and it does the job so i'll just keep using it...except that more an more i don't even bother with the pedal. they're a bit battery hungry so if i have a reverb amp i use that and if i'm using the champ i'll just probably use the champ. i do like delay, i just get lazy. i even have a reverb pedal and i'm too lazy to put a battery in it so when i go out i think maybe i'll take the reverb pedal and then i remember no battery and i can't be bothered with it
i'm actually playing acoustically so much and enjoying it so much that i'm even wondering what i'm doing with all these amps, let alone effects pedals. dunno whats happening to me

My MM Delay Pedal (ordered on March 21) will be shipping this week from Rick in Wyoming (his new address) as I received the shipping notification yesterday. Once I get it here, I'll let you all know how it mixes in my rig ( MM amp and BMA mic with Heumann element) Here's the latest info on the pedal:

THE MEMPHIS MINI DELAY PEDAL

Thank you for buying the Memphis Mini Delay pedal! We are very proud of its value and performance. The pedal will give you a very nice slap-back effect to fatten up your sound for that old-school Chicago tone. Depending upon the settings you choose the pedal can also produce some very cool echo effects. It's a warm sounding digital delay pedal built to our specs. The delay tails have a nice organic decay. It has true bypass, a metal housing, and is very well built.

The delay intervals can be dialed in from 25ms to 450ms and the number of repeats from one to infinity.

USING THE MM DELAY PEDAL
Power Source
You can power the pedal using either a 9 volt battery or a power adapter such as the One Spot from Visual Sounds. I like the One Spot because it is well built and has a very long cord that connects to the pedal.

To install a battery first remove the four screws on the bottom of the pedal. Attach the connector to the battery and make sure the battery is resting in the toe of the pedal, on its edge.

To use a power adapter just insert the barrel plug on the end of the cable into the smaller hole on the left side of the pedal. Plug the adapter itself into a 120v power source.

The large button on the pedal switches it on and off. A light at the top of the pedal will glow when the pedal is on. If you are using battery power, remember to click the pedal off and unplug both cables when the pedal is not in use. This will extend your battery life.

Hooking It Up
Plug your microphone cable into the “IN” jack on the right side of the pedal. If your mic cable has an XLR connection you may need an inline impedance matching transformer to convert your signal to high impedance. No worries, it sounds a lot more complicated than it is. Google it. I use the Audix T-50K when I want to try a low impedance microphone. Use a regular instrument cable to connect from the OUT jack on the pedal to the input jack on your amp.

Settings
LEVEL – This knob adjusts the mix. It blends your dry signal from the mic with the delay signal from the pedal. All the way to the left (counter clockwise) will be all dry signal and all the way to the right will be all delay.

DELAY – This knob sets the time between delay repeats. To the left is shorter time between repeats and to the right is longer.

REPEAT – This knob sets the number of repeats. All the way to the left is a single slap-back repeat. All the way to the right is infinite repeats.

Playing the Pedal
I recommend you begin with all three knobs pointing to the left, in the 9 o’clock position. This gives a really good fat tone, a thickener. Click here to see a video of Nic Clark playing the pedal with those settings: https://youtu.be/Yn1PlM16MZU

Next, try moving the DELAY and REPEAT knobs to the 12 o’clock position, pointing straight up. This gives a very cool echo effect. You can create an infinite variety of delay effects by adjusting the three knobs.

One setting I don’t recommend is setting the REPEAT knob all the way to the right. It causes infinite repeats, each one decaying and degrading until after a while you get a Pink Floyd-ish squawk. I left that feature in the pedal because I thought some users might like it. I never use it.

WARRANTY
The Memphis Mini Delay Pedal is warranted for one year to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. This is a limited warranty that is void in the case of abuse or modification. If you have an issue with the pedal, contacts us at info@memphisbluesamps.com.

Thanks!

Hello rogonzab and everyone,
Sorry for the delay (pun intended) in getting back to everyone.
I received the MM Delay pedal on Tuesday last week and then went to a conference, returning last night.
I put the pedal in the rig this morning and played for about an hour. I am using a One Spot power adapter. Also, it takes a complete set of cables for the pedal to be in line and engage.

This is truly an amazing synergy with the MM amp; BMA mic with Heumann element and the MM delay pedal. I found the effects as promised. The sound fatten up and it's as if you are in a larger hall where echo slap can occur and give the sound a nice tone. I really like what it does and enjoy the fact that the music sound somewhat louder through the pedal and gives me more adjustment flexibility on my mic's volume control.
Other far more expensive pedals I've heard sound like they're adding stuff to the sound. This pedal is polite and only thickens & enhances volume of the sound.
I went back to the pedal being turned off and I can say it does not bother the system. I removed the pedal and played straight in and could not hear any change so I believe the pedal won't do any harm when it's in the system and turned off.

I've only used it with all the knobs set at 9 o'clock and I am very happy such that I would not want a lot more pedal influence. It has its place whenever you want to add this sound to the mix but I really like the sound of my rig without it too and will use it judiciously.

This is a solid little product; at a very attractive price which when used with the Memphis Mini Amp, will satisfy anyone! It does what is promised and no more. What else can you ask for?
That's it for now.

Sorry something went wrong with the post
