My buddy Trip Henderson is not known as widely among members of this forum as he should be. When you hear what he does here, you will know why he is a major player, somebody who deserves to mentioned in the same breath with Wade Schumann and Joe Filisko:

Not enough harp volume in this second one, but it's worth straining to hear what he does:

Sweet stuff here:

Please post videos of other players in the old-timey style.

Start this at 14:32 for the harmonica. These guys are top of the heap as far as old timey stuff goes. Lotus is playing a harmonium. Its a bass harmonica with the end of a euphonium on it. Very innovative and quite a rack system to it. Enjoy.

According to the youtube comments on this, this recording is the oldest known 2nd position recording. IDK if thats true or not, but its still some cool solo harp.

Here are a couple of old-time tunes I included in Harmonica For Dummies, Second Edition. Harmonica is in the right channel so that you can mute it and use the backing track.

So excited to see this thread! Lately I've been putting all of my harp energy into learning to play old-time tunes...

Someone who definitely deserves mention here is Marty Lebenson:

Also, Dave Rice, who plays harp in "the Hoover Uprights." If you're interested in great old-time harp, check out their album "Known for Their Reputation."

This video is the only one I could find on Youtube-- at around 1:15, you can see Dave doing some pretty deft harp switching.

My two choices would be David Rice (above) and Mark Graham.
