I bought a new suzuki manji in C. I played one short song on it and I don't like it. I will trade it for a good seydel harp. Blues session, solist, etc.

i also prefer the seydels to a manji....
but don't sell the manji,

you can trick that harp out quite easy.

the # 1 concern is the tuning by re-tuning alone
you may just fine you are getting to like that bastard.

it most likely needs to be gapped.
you can smooth out the tines with a finger nail file

check you tube.... ex member frank had a video
filing down a marine band comb.

i put bends juke coverplates on one... totally different harp at this point.

if you are not comfortable doing this work yourself
send it to joe or andrew.
in the end you will have a harp you really really like
that will last a very long time...."forever"

Thanks 1847, but I'm not putting any money into it when I like the seydels just as they are for the most part.

how much is a fingernail file?

you can use it to re-tuned and bevel the comb

LOL! not much I would imagine, but I'm very inept at that kind of stuff and at pushing 70 I'd rather just trade it for what I want.

Hohner Special 20 in A. Looks brand new, though I may have blown into it once - can't remember. I think I bought it as part of a 3-pack. It needs a good home, as I rarely use A harps.

$30 free shipping in USA. E-mail address is in my profile.

I picked up a fresh batch of Marine Band combs from my machinist today – Brass and Fancy Acrylic. I am probably a little over the top with the number of colors of Fancy Acrylic but they all look so cool. I can’t help myself. There are seven new colors that I am offering for the first time. They are not even listed on my website yet. These combs have not been polished yet so they are not as shiny as the other pictures I have posted in the past. If you are interested any of the new colors not yet listed on BlueMoonHarmonicas.com, just Facebook message me and I will send a PayPal invoice.

I'm raising SPAH money so need to sell my trusty old 1960's vintage genuine Shure Green Bullet harmonica microphone. It features its original 99B86 Controlled Magnetic element which really honks, and is in very nice overall condition. This baby was literally a PA mic' in the basement of a church for 40 years before I got it. Like all my hi-impedance mic's I've installed a 2-foot lead with a female Switchcraft 1/4" jack so that any guitar cable will work with it and you won't rip the innards out by their roots if someone accidentally step on the cable.

I'm offering it here for the fair and fixed price of $150 plus shipping and insurance before I auction it off on ebay. That's $30 more than the current Shure (made in Mexico) offering. This mic' eats those for breakfast, tone-wise. Below are some pictures.

Thanks for looking!

Michelle

In addition, I have a Joe Spiers Level III Golden Melody in A set up for overbends. I have never gigged with it, but it has an hour or so of play time on it. $250 plus shipping.

I need a harp friendly amp small to medium. I'd love a Princeton Reverb (reissue is fine), but would entertain other options for cash or cash plus lessons and or custom harmonica work. Bonus if I can get it by the 30th. Not looking for anything huge.

Champ-ish amps might be ok...looking at $500 in cash tops. Will be used for a Blues duo with bullet mic. I tend to not use amps with full bands so tone trumps volume.

Email me. Thanks.

This is an extended French Tuner. It's used to tune octaves and fifths. I don't officially offer this because I think it's pretty extreme. But if enough folks are interested, I'll add it to my offerings. Contact me if you would like one.

Here is a description of obsessive-compulsive tuning (all the intervals of fifths):

FS: Lafayette PE 10 PA amplifier
This circa 1950's deco styled amp uses an octal 6SC7 preamp tube, 6L6G RCA coke bottle power tube, 5Y3 rectifier. Cosmetically excellent minus, with scattered light cage rust.

I completely serviced the amp and it runs perfectly and sounds fabulous. Servicing includes new filter caps, Mallory 100 coupling caps, phone jack mic input and phone jack outputs for 4 and 8 ohm output tranny taps. 6L6 plate voltage is 345V.

It is silent at rest, loud for a single ended amp, has great tone, and is feedback resistant. Tone control is useful and not all the way down for harmonica. It sounds great into a crunchy small speaker and a big clean 15 in Weber California ceramic speaker.

Price is $250 plus shipping. I'll pack for free. Why am I selling this wonderful amp? I just have waaaaay too many great amps. If you don't like it, send it back within a week for a full refund of purchase price. You pay shipping both ways.

Hi all. I'm selling the custom A-flat Marine Band that I used to record "Superstition" on my debut album "Memphis Grooves". The track was a duo with Adam Gussow on harp and foot drums. The asking price is $100 or best offer.

I am also selling a vintage Hohner tremolo harmonica. It is in working condition, but will need some clean up and a replacement bottom cover plate nail (or screw). Asking price is $40 or best offer.

I've just upgraded my website: harp.andrewzajac.ca

It has a new look and is a lot smoother on tablets, iPhones and the like.

It took me until 3AM on Saturday to get most of the upgrade done!

To celebrate, I'm offering MBH users a 15 per cent discount coupon. Just enter "fifteen" when you check out your order. This coupon is valid until Sept 21st. The minimum subtotal on which the coupon can be used is $20.

Apply the coupon on your purchase of combs and tools. Sorry, I cannot apply this rebate to custom harps.

Thank you!

I'm proud of this kit. I learned from a blacksmith how to harden and temper steel to make the reed removal pin. I make these tools myself.

See:

Replace reeds on a harmonica just like you change strings on a guitar.

I provide full support with the purchase of my tools.

RP355 digitech guitar effects (great shape, home use except 2 gigs) with full set of Richard Hunter patches. Make me an offer!

This unit can be connected to a computer via usb interface and used as an analog digital converter for recording.. it is also a good way for a new player considering effect pedals to narrow down generally what they would like their sound to be.

the Hunter patches are very harp friendly!

My Dark combs are GREEN! I'm sure whomever said that my my combs contain formaldehyde made an honest mistake. They DO NOT contain formaldehyde.

Dark combs are made from a sustainable composite made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and PetroFree™ non-petroleum based phenolic resins. It is VOC-free, including formaldehyde, and emits no radon gases, the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. It has been certified ‘food safe’ by NSF, the public health and safety company. It is the greenest composite material available.

I learned how to make combs from friends with over 100 cumulative years of machinist experience!

I flatten each comb by hand and I examine every part of the surface to make sure it's perfectly flat. I use a tool for that. My tool is a working copy of a straight edge precise to .000025" per 6" (25 millionths of an inch).

The original straight edge stays in a drawer! If I were to use it on every comb I make, it would eventually wear out. The measuring edge of my comb tool is made flat to the same tolerance.

I try to keep the cost reasonable - a comb shouldn't cost more than a brand new harp! The biggest part of the cost of these combs is the work involved in making them flat.

They are durable and will last you a lifetime.

Order them one at a time or buy them by the dozen.

USA customers can find them at RockinRons.
