Having a bit of a clean out I came upon an old Hohner Puck -miniature 10 hole diatonic. Not the greatest sounding harp but still ok & well built for such a cheap harp. Good cheap stocking filler for the grandchildren.

I love how the covers go on. Just be careful with the age of the kids. It's got good airflow end to end but might still be a swallowing hazard.

I was talking to someone once about how far you could retune a reed, and we figured out that if you really wanted to, you could probably, with the G and C Pucks, retune to give yourself a full set. I actually think they are a neat learning tool. I remember when I first heard the debate over hole size, you know the one where they say they can't adjust between a Lee Oskar and a MB, well I was kind of in that camp, but then I played the Puck. After that, I had no trouble adjusting to the tiny difference between full sized harps.

Nice job.

Thanks Nate. I have played around tuning the Puck but it is a very fiddly job because of the size. Am surprised that Hohner don't make larger models with the same slide on covers as it makes for easy access to the reeds. My video gives the impression that a lot more air is required to play them but not so ie it really is the change in my embouchure & not the harp which is in fact very tight. Perhaps the airy sound could be accentuated by the way in which the covers are vented ie holes instead of open back and big open vented sides? Can't say that I love it as a harp but it's a good talking point and is a bit of a novelty.
