Before I write a word I just want to express my gratitude for all the patience, tolerance, empathy, support, friendship, knowledge and love this forum and the harmonica community as a whole has shown me for so many years! Thank You! Having said that, here's the news: 1.) The Harmonica Collective will be hitting again in Indianapolis 2015 for another big week of teaching, jamming and gear talk. Thank you Winslow! 2.) I am also very pleased to say I will also be teaching with Brandon Bailey, Our own Adam Gussow and my old friend and BMA award winner Billy Gibson in June, 2015 at Adam's great event! 3.) ALSO I'm hitting the road again starting FEB. 2015 for world wide tour dates with my main man from NOLA John Lisi and our old band from New Orleans with a new name. "Jason Ricci and the Bad Kind". The band just signed a deal with the Tina Terry Agency and Tina has already booked a ton of shows all over the USA and a few overseas. So yes, I can now travel again. All dates can be found on my updated sight www.mooncat.org . Rueben Williams (Tab Benoit, Anders Osbourne, Sam Fish, Mike Zito, Chief Monk Boudreaux etc) is managing the band and were recording a new full length album produced by Nick Moss in mid Jan 2015 for spring/early summer release. Very Exciting. 4.) The Maine Blues Society is flying me back home to induct me into the Maine Blues Hall of Fame (Yes there is one now) and I all be doing a show there with my buddies who helped me learn to play. We will be doing a tribute to my childhood friend and late peer Nick Curran and it should be very fun and of course an honor to be honored in such a way by my own home and people. 5.) The Johnny Winter "Step Back" album has been nominated for a Grammy, this means if it wins not only will the album get a Grammy but so will all all of us who played on it including your very own grateful Moon Cat!!! Thank you to everyone who bought the record because of Johnny, myself and all the other amazing players I was truly privileged to share tape with! 6.) I have a new acoustic project as well I'm working on with a NYC artist named JJ Appleton. Here's a super catchy tune I did with JJ and bass player Tim Lefebvre (Derek Trucks) up in NYC a while back. JJ has an amazingly original voice and sincere lyrical approach. This tune here was the craziest of them all as the rest were mostly straight blues (Which I'm really looking forward to coming out) and this tune really showcases JJ's intelliigence, attitude and simply unique approach to American Roots music. I'm hoping to work on a serious , full album acoustic effort with JJ , hopefully also coupled with a fair share of traveling JJ road shows. Show your support, dig the tune and share with your friends and maybe we can get it together for a festival or show near you! Thank you all. BTW, the tune is started in 3rd alternates back n' forth to cross sort of and the bridge is treated as 5th or in Michael Peloquin's words: "The position is: "STANDING UP" Meow Meow to the Meow Meows.

Great news Jason! Congratulations on doing the hard yards over the past few years to get to this point.
I like the sound of the 'worldwide' part. Hope you make it to England before too long. If so, come on down to Canterbury to share a few Tales and some time messing in my workshop. I could get a pub gig or two happening as well.

Sounds great!
JJ is my wife's cousin. Very talented family: his father is a composer and invented the Synclavier. Cool stuff.
Wish some of it would rub off on me!
