Hi guys and gals

Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a blues guitarist and singer from New Zealand. Yes, I know I'm not a harp player but I love working with good harmonica players and I even know a few over here.

Here's a clip of a new tune of mine. Hope you enjoy.

Welcome Darren. There's quite a few good harp players out your way. I like your video clip. It reminds me a lot of Big Bill Broonzy. Very nice indeed.

Very nice sir! I'd jam with you in a short minute except for living in Arkansas! That's a good sounding Gibson you play as well as you playing it well.

Please feel free to get a look at wife and my videos via reverbnation. Also youtube.

Here's my mate Terry Casey blowing some Cotton-isms with my old band. ('scuse the distorted phone recording) ;-)

nice - Terry Casey was my first harmonica teacher.

In his defence it was only two lessons.

TC is a fine player. If he live anywhere else he'd be well-known. Great entertainer too.

As Darren says... Terry is a helluva harp player.
Darren is a monster player, but he won't tell you that..
I've been away from New Zealand for 15? Years now, and I'm just a basement playing blues fan. But I know. Great player when I hear one.
Cheers,
Mike

@indigo. Hey! Not bringing a harp player to this one. I'll have Rick Cranson on drums, Elliotte Fuimaono on bass, and Al Norman on Organ and Piano. Should be a fun night. Cheers. DW

What does "I'm your huckleberry" mean?

That's the second time I heard this phrase (from Georgia Blues).

Only other time is in that awesome "Tombstone" movie scene where Val Kilmer (Doc Holliday) says it to that desperado who shows up in the woods hoping to kill Kurt Russel but runs into Doc instead.

btw, Val Kilmore's Doc Holliday is one of my movie milestones as far as fantastic character acting.
