also, our perceptions of traditional blues playing men are heavily influenced by the pictures and their acts in the late 1960's on, when they were older men who might talk the talk but are not so prone to showing off their bodies, and the young men who took up the torch went different ways.... .I saw Mayall in the 1970's, indoor winter concert, and he came out only wearing short cutoff shorts (my 20 year old girlfriend was NOT impressed). Jagger and Morrison were not shy, but Clapton took it a more sedate direction.

I have never heard of Jess Greenberg before.
She is a very good singer, GREAT looking and can play the guitar. Her guitar playing needs work before she could be considered a real Blues musician.
She is most certainly on the right track and is a very good looking young woman.
I honestly don't even see why this could be an issue.
Oh and Samantha Fish gets an honorable mention with her legs!
Edit: Jess Greengerg isn't a Blues musician at all, just another good looking young woman using her looks to advance herself! IMHO why not!
The only people that complain about pretty girls are ugly people!

I'm quite surprised that this is such a contentious topic (mind you, just about any topic on this forum can be contentious, maybe it should be called the cranky old blues harp forum).

I thought it was common knowledge that women love harp players. Maybe it has something to do with it being about the only instrument you play with your tongue that also requires great breath control.
To me the premise that sex appeal and displays of physical potency is a part of blues performance and a major drawcard is a no brainer.
I've looked after my middle aged body pretty good and still look alright in tight jeans and tank top (primarily, but not exclusively to middle aged women. You'd be surprised, I am). Lots of women love to see bicep.
It can go a long way towards making up for reasonably mediocre playing.

These girls rocks! I like this kinda female rock music.
They play it differently, not brutal, but with a lot of courage.
