Mr. Downchild is the real deal.. British, but firmly entrenched in the blues a la Steve Guyger.

Mr. Downchild was brought to SPAH 1997 as one of the headliners. He was a pleasure to work with.

The other Cleveland talent deserving of wider recognition is Dave Morrison. His band is called "Aces and Eights".

Cool stuff.

I used to see Lockwood at a joint called Phat phish Blue 14-15 years ago when I worked in Cleveland

I have the tape of the '97 Spah..god it is good stuff.
Even has a young? Dennis Grueling on it.
Mr Downchild is English? His accent in the second video almost has an Aussie twang to me.
Anyways (like all blues players around the world) he sings in 'y'all' American.
London, Oslo,Sydney it don't matter...comes out Mississipi.;-)
Nice Guy and a good player.

Mr Downchild is an awesome bluesman!

I only saw him live once where he was playing at a local Borders bookstore... I bought a few of his CD's, and later bought the other ones that I could find.

He disappeared for a several years... glad that he is back !

As Iceman said, another great talent is Dave Morrison... I saw him many years ago, probably early 80's, and his Aces and Eights band... was amazed by his chromatic playing back then... I have their CD "This Hand is Live", and its a feast of blues and blues harp !

Dave also plays with Cletus Black (and Revue)... love 'em !
