Hi All,
Everybody knows by now that the Hering company has (unfortunately) gone out of business for sometime now.
What I needed to know is that whether there's still any seller left in the US with Hering harmonicas still in stock? I am especially interested in the Hering Special 48, Stan Harper signature model, and the 1923 diatonic harp.
Can anybody please give me any pointers at all? Do I have some hope?
Thanks in advance.
Arindam.

They don't appear to be out of business . . . http://www.heringharmonicas.com.br/produtos/?cat=10 As to who sells them in the US, Harp Depot seems to have the distributorship . . . although this page http://www.heringusa.com/ext180.html seems to indicate that they are not!
I imagine some other dealers have some stock, call them and ask them!

I just received a Hering Sonhadora octave harp from my grandparents this past Christmas. I asked her where she managed to get her hands on one. Turns out it came from Buckeye Music, but their site appears to be of the same format as HarpDepot, so I'm led to believe that the two companies might be one and the same... ----------

Harp Depot operates under multiple nameplates. If you jump from one to another you notice a consistency in their presentation.
Hering appears and disappears in the world marketplace. They always seem to reappear.

Bends, the other Brazilian harmonica company, has definitely disappeared. They dissolved a while back.

I think I have a couple maybe 3 Herring diatonic reed plates on a comb. You can email me if you are interested. Reed plates are brand new, but there are no covers.
Also, I'm pretty sure that Fred Klet of EZ Reeder has a bunch of Herring chromatic stuff
