Properly nailed it. I doubt Magic Dick could have done it better.

Thank youuu!!!

Let's not forget Markku Sainmaa who only needed a cup of tea and a few takes to take control of the song.

Markku certainly did seem jacked up on something - so now we know it was the caffine :)

Lyrics added as spam decoy

Too late, too late, too late
I'm tired of your deceivin' and I can't statd your creepin', I'm gone
I'm tired of your deceivin' and I can't stand your creepin', I'm gone

Too late, too late, too late
Tired of all the fussin' and I can't stand your cursin', I'm gone
Tired of all the fussin' and I can't stand your cursin', I'm gone

Gee you know I love you
I don't know just why
Thought the whole world of you
But today I say bye-bye, bye-bye

Too late, too late, too late
Can't stand your cookin' and you ain't good-lookin', I'm gone
Can't stand your cookin' and you ain't good-lookin', I'm gone

Gee you know I love you
I don't know just why
Thought the whole world of you
But today I say bye-bye, bye-bye

Too late, too late, too late
Can't stand your beatin' and I know you been cheatin', I'm gone
Can't stand your beatin' and I know you been cheatin', I'm gone
Can't stand your beatin' and I know you been cheatin', I'm gone

Next time have your accompanist wait out that intro part that was played alone a la Magic Dick. Sounds cool by itself.

Hello Håkan, this sounded great. You have listened with close ears to the original song, and come close to nailing it.

I have some questions--

How long did it take you to learn this song?

How did you learn it? Listening? Listening and tabs?

For the listening part, did you use a computer program that slowed the song so you could learn it at that speed first? Or did you listen to the song at the normal tempo only?

Is your main embouchure tongue blocking or lip pursing?

How much of what you did, in this song, was tongue blocking, how much was not? Give a percentage, if nothing else.

This is not a question, only an observation. Timing-wise, you and the guitarist were in sync most of the song. You rushed it (played "ahead of the beat") at 1:00 to 1:09 and at 2:04 to 2:13, probably because these were dramatic moments in the song. See if you agree, as you relisten to the song. If you don't, it's all good.

I give credit to you for playing acoustically, with great authority, an amplified harp classic. I would have been afraid to try to do this song acoustically, but you pulled it off.

Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, and sometimes your country Finland are considered Scandinavian countries. If you consider yourself one, greetings from a fellow Scandinavian. If you don't, tervehdys!

Cheers,

WOLF KRISTEN SON--Im no hakan-- hes always good--he seems like a character-- Ive learned a 'LOT FROM HIM' anyway In order for me to memeorize the parts of a song-- i analize it- so i understand what its doing--that starts the process--whammer 12 bar key E --no quick change--lots of breaks,w/harp only---basically there are 10 [12 bar measures] it goes around 10 times--I named each go around--ie 1st 12 bar is what i named a 'chug' harp only---2nd 12 bar 'chug' harp only---3rd what i call a bassline [drum roll at end]---4th 12 bar -[what i call warble]--with hi hat and bass player---5th 12 bar--is [fast]guitar bass drums--6th 12 bar is [fast lick w/ upper register licks [1st 4 measures of this 12 bar ,which is over I chord--only harp for those measures THEN band comes in on 5th measure 'over IV chord-- 7th 12 bar is easy to forget cuz everything changes--i call it "guitar lick 12 bar" cuz band stops again and mr magic trades licks with guitar player-[in my opinion this is definately a tongue slap using holes 3456 blow slap tongue over 345--leaving root note on blow 6 to sing['don't have harp at moment to make sure of holes]--definately toungue slapto start--band comes in again overIV chord--'5th measure'-----now 8th 12 bar--once again band on 5th measure--I call it a "chug"
9th 12 bar "yell' again band on 5th measure--on turn around magic does what icall the 'dit a la dit a la ....flicking toungue up n down saying dit a la ...its agreat technique for some songs --10th last 12 bar I call a 'chug' its really fast runs with th hi note bend ending--OK I KEPT THIS PAER WITH ME AND TO PLAY EACH INDIVIDUAL 12 BAR--'TO HELP MEMORIZE SONG--SO ID SAY BOB PLAY THE 4TH 12 BAR WHICH NOW I REMEMBERED AS WARBLE ETC ETC...ALSO HUGE POINT---0['I RECORDED INDIVIDUAL 12 BAR SEGMENTS AT SLOW AND REG AND DIFFFERENT SPPEDS--BURNED TO A CD AN PRACTICED WHEN NO ONE LOOKING IN CAR--I DO NOT PLAY IT PERFECT--BUT ONCE I LEARNED THE "TAGS= 'LICKS' OF THE SONG THE HARDEST PART WAS---------------MEMORIZING WHEN AND WHERE IN SONG---THE 'GUITAR LICK KEPT GETTING OMMITTED---HOPE THIS 'ENDLESS DIATRIBE' HELPS--by the way I use to be very indesisive--Im not sure, but i don't think Im like that any more--music was ment to be fun for u and audience--later see u on the blues cruise

Thanks Snowman, that is my favorite harp song. I saw J Giles several times in the 80's. I think they opened for every major rock band there ever was. Magic Dick never failed to entertain. That band just kicked ASS...BN

wolf: Thanks. I think i took quite a long time to learn. But I didn't sit down and focused only on this one so It's not possible to tell how many hours. I have always loved to play rock and boogie and that is an advantage for this song I think. It was Adam Gussow's yuotube lessons on this song that inspired me. But when it comes to really learning, I downloaded youtube clips with Magic Dick versions, 5-6 versions I think and converted them to sound files and put them on my mp3 player and listened to them when I went to work. In my mp3 player I can slow down the speed and I did that sometimes. I didn't use tabs. I have never used tabs. I bougt tabs once but I never studied them cause I'm too lazy or I never got the motivation.

Tounge blocking and lip pursing, I don't know the percentage. But I followed Magic Dick. But of course he always plays it a little different. At least on all the youtube clips I studied. The sync between me and Markku is something I never thought of.

Cheers wolf!
