I was watching the first season of that great TV series "The Wire", and it has a very cool song playing over the opening credits. Turns out the song is "Way Down in the Hole", sung by a group called Five Blind Boys from Alabama. The song features some very wicked harp, played by none other than Charlie Musselwhite. Does anyone know what key (and what position) Charlie is playing in?

I saw the Blind Boys of Alabama open up for Robert Cray recently, and they were awesome... They had the whole place jumping and grooving. I also saw them years ago touring when they were opening for Charlie, so I guess they are pretty tight with him.

Here's a solo snippet from "Way down in the Hole" (Ab (3rd position). The "iPhonographer" only recorded my solo - Don't let the singer (Frankie Keane) legs distract you!

i just finished season one,
this came out in 2002,
so i am only 12 years
behind the curve.
the last episode: features more harmonica.
definitely a controlled magnetic.
not sure if it is charlie musslewhite.
i will presume it is, may have to re-listen to it,
once more before my amazon prime expires.
got to keep the devil...down in the hole
