I used my amp and it worked fine. With no one else using it inbetween, the next time I tried to plug into the 1/4" jack input, the plug stopped with about 4mm to go.

It seems that something has moved out of position in the bottom of the receptacle.

Is there a way to fix this besides replacing the jack?

There might be.
Have you opened the amp up and had a look at the jack?
Is it one of those sealed up plastic-cased isolated jacks?

Yes, I opened it and it's sealed plastic with soldered attachment so I can't really see or get at the bottom of the insides of it.

yeah ok, well i guess i dont really have much specific insight...i'd be looking to see all the external contacts appear to be placed correctly.
otherwise i suppose its possible something has invaded the space from outside...you could probe..suck...tap...

What kind of amp is it? Are there a lot of components in close proximity to the jack enclosure? If not, you might wanna just swap it out with an open jack instead. Much easier to work on and maintain. Unless of course, this would violate any warranty you might have on the amp....
