I've thought of turning them into a vertical harmonica rack to mount to a mic stand. It seems to me horizontal stands, from a balance standpoint, put the weight too far out on what is essentially a lever, so I've thought about making a rack out of harp cases where each one is a tipped back, running down the stand.

I had a foster brother who used a deodorants stick, some glue and some paint and some other scraps to make a pretty cool looking rocket ship, so with artistic skills anything can be worked into a larger piece.
I pill case for horse pills? You could hide money in the ones with the plastic inserts, under the inserts. You could drill a hole for a jack into one and make it into an MP3 player, or maybe even hide some other music related device, maybe even, since they are sized for harmonicas they could be turned into something to cup a harmonica in a rack. I just checked my MP3 player and it fits in nicely. You'd have to drill a jack hole and cut a hole to access the buttons, but it would leave enough room to hold the bud earphones, which would make it fairly useful- the only problem is it has a little button on one side that would be fidgety to access through a hole on one side.
Too bad they aren't see through- they'd make nice display cases- would a MatchBox Car (er, Hot Wheel?) fit in one?
Not to encourage smokers, but a cigarette case? A container for spare batteries or other smallish to tiny things.
Some drilling, and maybe make a set of salt and pepper shakers? Or put some pellets in one and make a musical shaker?
They'd be a good way to hide stacks of quarters from people. Rivet them to a belt and they make a cheap carrying case. The Lee Oskar ones actually are designed to lock together which would give you some other options, but I think they aren't as nice looking as the Hohner ones.
Put some dividers in and have a pill organizer? A slot in the cover and you have a tiny piggy bank?
A place to store your ribbon candy?

Hawkeye, I bet Sp20 cases could hold jerky just fine!
Okay, other ideas... cut a hole in one end, and a hole for the switch and make a cool flashlight. Cut a hole in one end, put a one way door flap and some cheese and you've built a better humane mousetrap guaranteed to give a mouse the blues.
Line the inside, glue it shut, drill a screw hole in top, put a cork in it and use it as a flask. Use it for the case part for a Swiss style army knife (preferably with harp tool attachments). Get a tiny mp3 player and a tiny speaker, record some tasty harp links and wire it so when it opens it plays the riffs back- a harmonica case music box! (Actually, if done right, that one might be a money maker).
Put UV lights in it and market it as a harmonica sterilizer. :)
Put pipe cleaner legs and googly eyes on it and invent 'Hohner Man'.
Make an emergency bluesman kit- turn one end into a flask and store condoms in the other.
Put a recording device in it for recording shows.
Put a light in it that only turns on when it's open and use it for a little stage light to see what key harp you have. If you have great technical skills, put a tiny LCD in the top, RFID chips on all your harps and a little processor and have the LCD display what key harp you are holding up to it.
Glue a harmonica in it, and the next time someone at a show asks to borrow a harp, throw it to them. Alternately, glue the harp and case to a table in your house and see how many people fidget with it. :)
Glue a harp in it, and put reverse polarity magnets in the lid so it won't close, and put a piece of masking tape on the harp saying, 'Time to practice'. Best reminder ever!
Put a mini-first aid kit in it.
Put some quarters for the meter and some bills for the booze in it (and maybe some earplugs too) and carry it with you when you go out to pubs.
Would glasses fit in them?

I have two on my bench as I build this Champ...1 for the little bits of waste I'm making when I strip wires and trim leads etc, and the other for keeping the small hardware from scattering. I could use any number of containers but harp boxes were the first things I found. Hardly a jerky-deserving inspiration. I've heard that 'some people' keep harmonicas in them.

I know some customizers use them to ship harps in. They are good for their intended purposes.
You could buy a harmonica shaped stamp and put an ink pad in there and stamp things.
If you are proposing to a particularly blues oriented lady (or gentleman) you could put the ring in it.
You could decorate them to be, well, just fancy harmonica cases. You could put a mirror in it and sell it as a bluesy makeup mirror. Put a tube in it, drill some holes and make a kaleidoscope.
Put a decibel meter and some earplugs in it.
Boston Science Museum has a section where they have different recycled materials that you can take home with you to play around with. One of my favorites as a kid was a length of plastic tube about an inch and a half thick and 2 ft. long. You could spin it over your head, and depending how fast you spun it you could get different pitches out of it. ---------- Nate Facebook Thread Organizer (A list of all sorts of useful threads)

Funny you mentioned them being used as cigarette holders nacroan I used to roll my own cigarettes and would store 5-10 pre rolled in a case for when I got lazy.
