I have been looking at a few amps and seems a bit baffling I gather the old tube amps are the best however I want something battery driven in case I ever get good enough to go busking

some of you on here have recommended the roland street cube I have seen a cheaper roland similar to the street cube

but significantly cheaper I wondered what I would be gaining on the street cube for the extra 100 pounds ? I not very good at working out the tech diffrences so if anyone could have a look and feedback that would be great

here they both are

I know the speakers on the street cube are probably better and and more powerful ?I think it is mains powered +
battery etc

I like the smaller cheaper ones size and price there is a video of guy playing harp on the link not sure whether it would be enough output for street busking I do like its portability and seems good for money , has delay reverb chorus etc

If you are looking at that kind of thing, I suggest you try comparing with a Nux Mighty 8 which is 4W on battery, 6.5W on mains. I compared directly with the similar, well known Roland micro-cube, and the NUX has much better models for harmonica IMO. The Rolands models are great for guitar.

I don't use mine for busking though, just for home practice and recording. It's not very loud.

Here are your clickable links btw...If you right click on the page and do 'View Source' you should be able to find out the code to use, but it's like this...

I can vouch for the Roland Mobile (and I´ve done it before here), but I can´t give you any video: have no camera and my phone is way to crappy for it to produce something listenable.

It gives you passable volume for smaller gigs -- and certainly enough for the typical busking situation. I´ve used it in that context.

I tried quite a few different models of mini amps before settling on the Mobile. It´s portability was a nice feature -- but, perhaps more importantly, it also had a little bit of warmth in its sound: and that´s a scarce commodity in those small amps.

I love my street cube.
Three inputs:
1 for harp
1 for vocals which can take a 1/4" plug OR the 3 prong (forget the name)
1 for backing tracks

You can get a good sound out from the models for the harp.
The vocal input has some effects, too.

The batteries last a long time.
The speakers are angled upward so you aren't playing to people's knees.

Yes, 'view source' will give you a page of script, you can search for the right bit. Or use Greg's prescription on the other thread. Again it's like this...you can copy this exact code and edit the address and the 'Click Here' text...

You type...
<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk">click here</a>

It comes out as...
