Edit: Disregard this post - left here for context only. I was crying wolf.

FRANK - please TAKE THIS DOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!! David Barrett's hard work doesn't come for free. You are stealing and infringing his copyright.

The email he sent announcing this does not include the actual transcription - you have to go to the web site for that and I'm pretty sure you have to be a member to get to it.

It's free, you just sign up and he sends them to your email for promotional purposes -....the transcript is his gift...it is at the end of the newsletter, you need to scroll down to veiw it ") I think this was from Mel Bays website? I can easily take it down though if it ain't promotional, I thought it was public to promote his endevours and such?

My mistake and apology. I checked with Dave and you're right - this is free material. I thought because you had to go through his site to get it it was "members only."

Frank: thanks for the tip about the Barrett newsletter - I just signed up.

And everyone else: I would encourage you to spend some time and learn "Lowdown". I worked it up years ago and have been woodshedding on it a lot lately. That's one awesome tune, with a lot of subtlety and rhythmic sophistication...learning it helped me improve in lots of ways.

Frank - Thank you for this. I think it's a smart move of his to put out quality free material, like this. Enjoying his other free materials on the Mel Bay site encouraged me to buy his books. And there is quite a lot of competition.

Re Lowdown I came across this when I first starting playing, all those many weeks ago, and noticed that it seemed to be a primer to demonstrate all the techniques I had been reading about.

Your welcome fellers, I had the easy part - really all praise, thanks and honor to David and his crew and of course Adam for this forum to share these amazing things with each other...Yeah, Teachers like David and Adam etc. are some of the most generous harp players in the world, very fortunate to have their passion and wisdom pointing us in the right direction...Pretty cool how Kim starts Lowdown off on the 2 blow, very telling :)
