This groovy take of After Midnight was on the new Late Night with Seth Meyers. No harp (I'd loved to have put one on) but an interesting mashup of Blues and Jazz I thought worth sharing. JM comes back to the blues after the trumpet player (haven't figured out who yet) takes a very 'Jazz' ride and Chick takes one somewhere twixt the two.

John Mayer Trio are awesome. I can't stand his pop and country stuff, but with Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino, he becomes one of my favourite artists.
This is worth listening to purely for Steve Jordan's snare. Snap!
Thanks Bonedog.

This is a great session, and this easily beats Clapton's anemic rendition. Mayer is an under rated guitarist and here shows that he has chops, tone and taste, a nice combination. Corea does good work as well, but I wish he would leave the synthesizers alone ; his improvs are amazing, but the sound is cheesey. Wallace Roney is one of the finest trumpeters I've heard in years, part Miles (of course) part Freddie Hubbard (why not) but entirely his own man. His solos are sublime when he's in full mode. ---------- Ted Burke http://www.youtube.com/user/TheoBurke?feature=mhee
