Congrats to all the winners, and I trust even the losers had fun.

I do look forward to seeing Jerome Godboo play sometime.
He gets radio play in Ottawa on the blues station, hooray, we actually have a blues station here in town.
I have a few of his CDs, he sure can play, and he's got a recognizable style.

The first couple of YT videos of Hank Mowery I came across were not impressive, but the first three tracks on the CD that won him the award, just the previews, are superb. That live YT thing sometimes hurts artists. The album's got some great grooves, great hooks, fine singing, and I'm glad to know about him.

check out the previews, folks:

A friend at the finals sent me a short video he took of Mr Sipp's set. Wow! I figured that band would be the winner after I saw that.

A buddy of mine who is an airline pilot (and a really good blues harp player) texted me yesterday and offered to get me on a flight he was piloting to Memphis this morning. I couldn't do it because I'm getting ready to ship out the Memphis Mini amps, but DAMN, I am sorry I missed this IBC.

Not surprised that Billy the Kid & Regulators made the cut...told ya they were HOT :)

Wow and Jerome Godboo has been around the block...
The one-time local legend of explosive 90s rock band the Phantoms, Jerome has released 14 albums in his 25-plus year career, 11 of which are solo, including the brand new Sanctuary City with drummer Gary Craig and Spin Doctors guitarist Eric Schenkman.

I met Hank Mowery at the Delta Frost Blues Fest in Rothbury, MI last Sep. Real nice guy and he put on a great show with great music. He'll be at that Festival this June in Rothbuy. I hope I get to go to it this year.
