I'm guessing that not many on this site are big opera fans. I had a roommate in college who studied opera, so I learned to tolerate it, even like some of it. I even grew up in a college town with one of the best opera/music schools in the country. But I prefer other forms of music. It's the same with jazz harmonica, love William Clarke and others' chromatic style, but can't sit through a jazz piece. In fact, I'd almost rather sit through an opera. Anyone else feel this way? (Sorry Diggs, not my thing)

Love it. But like all music there is stuff I dislike. Give me Puccini & Verdi anytime. It is the consummate vehicle for the consummate instrument ie the human voice.

I like to listen to some opera occassionally, though usually from one of those CDs that just has the 'best bits'
I'd rather that than listen to Jazz harmonica...
