Thanks 528, what a great vid. Id love to have that mic. Sounds like a nasty old crystal. Jerry is a friend of mine. He is a good dude. Classic stuff here.

Slimharp - That's an old Shure Green Bullet Jerry is using in that clip. Most likely with a controlled reluctance element in it.
That is a top quality pro level band at work. That incarnation of Muddy's line up was a superb band. Notice how everybody is watching and listening to each other, nobody is playing too loudly and no one steps on anyone else's toes. Some serious lessons can be learnt from watching this video.

I know Jerry actually got that from the late Joe Berson, who was a student of his and a terrific player, who was originally from NY and I remember when he gave that to Jerry and that was definitely a new one at the the time with a controlled magnetic cartridge back then.

Muddy played with all the great harp players of his time. Paul Butterfield is my favorite. I love the way he comps the singer. Paul did a great job on a Levon Helms CD as well.

Excellent to see Jr. Wells in that timer period -- nice surprise treat -- dam, his singing was great!

Could it possibly be a black label CR. What ever it is Jerry makes it rip.

Joe Berson was a bad man. He had some serious tone and phrasing. He died way too young. I saw him a couple of times with the Legendary Blues Band in Chicago.
