i just replaced a 10 inch mojotone speaker in my bassman with a
jensen P10Q.
I played a bass riff into my boss loop pedal. ran it for an hour or so at a very low volume, then steadily increased the volume and added the kick drum. after a few hours of break in time i blasted my guitar thru it for an hour
them the harp. i am not sure how long it takes to break in a speakerbut i officially declare it "broken in"at first i could just barely hear it i was not sure it was even working
it was being drown out by the other three mojo tones. it is now much louder. i took it out to a jam last night. the amp was killer! i just received my vintage P10Q back from being re-coned so that will be going in next to it. this is a very very nice speaker.

I never understood why people don't like the reissues. I have used them for the past 15 years or so and I think they are a great speaker-especially the Q's and N's.

I used to run Hip Hop and Rap through mine prior to sending them out when I built amps if someone wanted a "broken in" speaker. That worked well :)

my plan was to have 2 smooth cones on the bottom
and 2 ribbed cones on top.
i also wanted to compare the re-issue with a re-coned speaker
i guess that is out the window.
if that is the biggest problem i have i guess i'm doing pretty well.
over all it looks like they did a fabulous job re-coning the speakers
and having one smooth cone and one ribbed p10q
should offer some contrast.
i had asked for the speakers to be done just the way they were
if it had a smooth cone i wanted a smooth cone
if it was ribbed, just make it the same.
so i am thinking they should of called me.
i would of told them that is fine no big deal
but come on at least call me.
at the end of the day it is just a speaker, a hundred years from now
it won't even matter.

Yeah, I would have done the same thing. It will likely give you variation in frequency. Contrast and texture are good for tone.
