HarmoniCollege 3 featuring Todd Parrott will be held April 25th & 26th. The Harmonica Club (of Huntington, WV) is happy to host this event. This year a third cabin has been added for more lodging. This year you will have price options for lessons, lodging and meals from $200 down to $100 or "classes only" for $50,

The event starts Friday evening with "eat, meet, and great". A jam session will last until about 11pm. Saturday morning classes start at 9am and go to 5pm. There will be three 45-minute classes in the morning and four 45-minute classes in the afternoon. Saturday night we will jam until everybody nods off.

Last year was spectacular and we expect things to only get better. The setting is like a country bed and breakfast. This is one place your spouse will enjoy. You will all ways have a choice of 2 classes to take. Lessons will be taught by Todd Parrott and me, Jim Rumbaugh. Go to www.hhcwv.com or www.theharmonicaclub.com for more details.

Sounds like another amazing time !!! Pencil me in. I have to check school schedule but weekends are best.
Also wanted to say, last years lesson on 5th position has been very productive for me. I have a trio that does a prison gig (captive audience) and they play a lot of minor tunes. 5th has opened a lot of new possibilities for me. Thanks Jim.

Sounds great. It would be an enormous gift to get some lessons from Todd. I know he does skype lessons, and maybe I'll do that some time. Wish I lived near by so I cold attend. And the price sure is good too.

From overblows and bends to vibrato and position playing, harmonica players will have an intense course study April 25 and 26 during HarmoniCollege 3.
“This is not for a beginner,” said Jim Rumbaugh, president of the Harmonica Club of Huntington, event sponsor. “This is for a person who’s started and wants to be able to advance their harmonica playing.”
Rumbaugh said the session welcomes those who can only attend Saturday classes, and expects players from Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Virginia who want to learn from experienced veteran harmonica players from North Carolina and Tennessee.
“Both of these guys are professional players and on a national level of skill,” Rumbaugh said of guest instructors Todd Parrott and T.J. Klay, adding both are “incredibly nice and extremely approachable,” making them ideal instructors.
Parrott, the featured instructor from North Carolina, has been playing harmonica for nearly 25 years, and has performed and recorded with several artists. Assisting Parrott will be Klay from Madison, Tenn., a Hohner Harmonica Artist for the past 16 years who has been featured on the Hohner Harmonica Artist Calendar. Klay was an original member of the country rock band Western Flyer. His band days included two CDs, four hit singles, three Country Music Television videos and 10 TV appearances.
Rumbaugh will also teach during the upcoming event, who will offer each participant a choice of two subjects. Topics include country-style harmonica; incorporating overblows; chords and notes; riffs and rhythms; position playing; vibrato methods; and tuning the harmonica.
“This is a rare opportunity for harmonica players,” Rumbaugh said.
HarmoniCollege 3 is the third annual learning event hosted by the club at Heritage Farm Museum. The learning will begin at 6 p.m. April 25 with a meet, greet, eat and jam session. The April 26 installment will start with breakfast at 8 and classes at 9. There will be three morning classes, lunch, four afternoon classes, dinner and an evening jam session. The $50 fee covers the cost of classes and meals, Rumbaugh said.
Participants can sign up for Saturday classes without participating in Friday events, Rumbaugh said.

Good weather predicted
I liked the inside jam last year
BUT
If the gang wants to go outside, we'll go outside and play.

hhmmmmmm,

they did move the fire-pit to a new spot a little further away, but we still can do it.
