I just picked up a EV CO9 for 39 bucks. Musicians Friend. I tried a buddies CO5 for harp and dam, that sucker was feedback proof! That was with a cranked Fender BM thru a 2x10 cab in my plaster and hardwood dining room! The CO9 response graph is nearly identicle to the CO5. Probably the same cheep mic repackaged.
Anyhoo, I was thinking of coating the bottom half of the ball with something to make it air tight. Bondo or JB weld I'm thinking. Has anyone tried something like this? Was there any change in the tone? What do you think?. Thanks...BN

This works for a Shure SM 58 as well. Huge tone. I say tape it!

How does the mic sound? It's a low impedance dynamic mic weighing almost 12 ounces.
