I would like to play the guitar solo portion at the end of Hotel California but I am having trouble identifying the proper key harp to use. I cannot quite get it with the keys I have, and suspect I need to buy another key.

Online, they say the key is B minor and guys I know that play guitar (and I would like to jam with) play in B flat minor.
I can play 1st and 2nd comfortably but beyond that is beyond my skill.

Is there a key I can play the guitar portion in first or second position?

Any advice would be welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,
Bigsky

If you want to have fun with "Hotel California" play it in 5th position. Don't freak out. Just think 2nd position stuff, but you're playing in the "relative minor" of 2nd position. (it helps if you know the major pentatonic scale in 2nd position)

here's a backing track in Bm, grab a G harp and try it. You can go all the way from 1 draw to 10 draw real easy.

OK, I admit I'm compulsive.

I threw this together to illustrate. Even with a few bad notes, I think it makes the case. The only bent notes are an occaional 3 draw or 6 draw.
