Dont know if it helps - but I can play it on guitar and you go from the e minor to the e major chord with a hammer on trill from the g to g sharp note. I guess you could pre bend the 3 draw for the same effect- as nirvana plays it its mix of the e- em thing, a chord, g chord

Start on the 4 hole blow. You're going to need to make good use of the 5 draw, slide into bent, and the 4 bend too.
This should get you started- (watch the intonation on the 4 bend)- Personally, I usually grab a minor harp, but if you get that 4 bend pitched right it will sound nice on a major. Here it is on a major tuned harp
(Corrected to actually reflect what I was playing, since apparently I can't count the holes on my harmonica. :)

Okay, why am I playing a minor tune in first position? Oops, I counted wrong...
I started on the 3B, not the 4. Still playing it in a different position than JInx. I'm more familiar with the Nirvana cover.

I'm not sure what position nacoran is in, but I tabed it in 2nd. Also, I don't hear it as a minor tune. ---------- Sun, sun, sun Burn, burn, burn Soon, soon, soon Moon, moon, moon

I could be wrong. I was working on memory off the Nirvana version and I didn't write out the notes to see what key I had and I wasn't sure if I'd gotten all the way to the resolve. Are you working off the Leadbelly or Nirvana version? (Or the Dolly Parton version!)
In the Pines (snipet)
My intonation is off on the 3 bend. Oh well. I'm off to see my shrink! Maybe I'm just crazy. :)

A good reference book which contains tabs in 2nd,3rd,4th @ 5th position for 'In The Pines' is the Jon Gindick book called 'Bluesify Your Melody'.
I play it sometimes at bluegrass jams but I learnt it by ear as I hate using tabs. Tabs are sometimes handy as a starting reference. ---------- HARPOLDIEāS YOUTUBE

JInx, thanks. I was worried the 3d bend sounded uneven with the rest of it.
I think I'm in 3rd position, but I could be wrong (on my D harp, it's what I had nearest to the computer). It lays out really easily in 1st on a minor tuned harp.
