Hey all I have paid for my first 16 hole chromatic for a grate price but knowing it has been used, it's a Larry Adler Professional 16 I do not wan't to start taking it apart when I get it, what can I use to clean the comb with. I have asked Hohner but they not got back to me yet. As far as I know it's not been used much but would still like to clean it to make sure. Any help most grateful. Thank You

Does it have a wooden comb or plastic? Hohner made The Larry Alder Pro 16 in both over the years.
As far as cleaning chromatic combs goes, there's no good way that I know of that doesn't involve removing the reed plates. If it's a plastic comb, this is pretty simple. If it's a wooden comb, I'd send it to someone with some experience working with them. ---------- C. Adam Hamil HOHNER CERTIFIED Free Reed Instrument Technician

I think it's plastic here is the link to where I got it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-M-HOHNER-CHROMATIC-HARMONICA-7574-64M-LARRY-ADLER-PROFESSIONAL16-Boxed-/360695913372?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=9g5m6pPF60QdSimUlOZvCXlr%252FR4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc not sure if the link will work but it's vintage on and my dad's one I think it's chrome maybe but not sure.

if its a wood comb you can clean it, you have to scrape off "stuff" and seal the comb. also 16 holer wood combs are usually cracked. is it wood or plastic comb?
