Does anybody knows who makes them? Where can I purchase one? I've been looking for a while with no luck. Do they exist ?

Seems like it would be awfully squeaky.

Seydel makes High A harps in the Blues Session and Blues Favorite models (and maybe others, you can check out their website). I have a 10-year-old Bushman (made by Seydel) in High A. It's not squeaky, but it IS bright.
Hohner currently makes up to High G in original Marine Band and Special 20 models, but doesn't appear to offer High A at present. ---------- Winslow

@picardz Why would you want this? Perhaps you are one of our harp players who specialise in keys that are not common, for example F# or Db, keys which I do not carry in my case. High A, I dunno, have to try..

Thank you guys!! And I am interested in an high A because I sing the blues as well, I sing mainly on E major and want to change the sound of my harp playing from song to song a little.

The Solist Pro comes in High A (Brass only). I've played about 5 or 6 of them as well as a few Sessions. I think this is one of those cases where the sandwich design edges out recessed so I would go with the Solist Pro. I've sold a bunch of them and none have come back but I can't say that about the Sessions. Since High A is the highest Seydel makes, you can't re-tune them which is what really makes them nice. So for example, if you needed an Ab, take a high A and polish the reeds at the base and knock it down 1/2 step. Seems to keep them going longer and give good response. I'm sure there are other makers, but just sharing my experience.
Clarifying ... The High A is the highest brass 10 hole Seydel makes. In these higher key harps, I've found it better to buy 1/2 step up and tune down. Obviously that can't be done in the case of a High A. ---------- Greg Jones 16:23 Custom Harmonicas greg@1623customharmonicas.com 1623customharmonicas.com

I did a studio session recently for a deep country singer--country, not country blues--and I used a G harp for most of it and switched to a MB high G for the solo. The producer kept the (lower) G harp on the rhythm track, so I was, thanks to technology, actually playing both harps at once. And THAT, my friends, is a sound: low-mean and high-lonesome at the same time.
So it would be good to have a regular A harp and a high A harp as well; you never know when you're going to use both harps in the same song.
I tried out a high A at the Seydel factory, so I'm sure they can produce them.

Yep, Seydel makes them. I even made myself a high Bb by tuning up a high A. Seydel also has a model that comes in a high C, I think it's the Solist Pro 12. They had it at their booth at SPAH 2011 and I played it. I like using high harps, and they do sound good to use in the studio as Adam suggested.
I also have a Hohner Piccolo in high A, but those have long been discontinued.

I have a Hohner Steve Baker Special in A. Holes 4-13 are what a high A harp would be, A4 to A6. Holes 1-3 are the same as 1-3 on a standard A harp. Hole 14 is C#8. The top reeds are very short. The would not play at all until I gaped them, now I can get a reasonable tone with great care. To little or too much pressure and they choke off.

I used to own a Hohner Vest Pocket/Piccolo in both High G as well as High A, but I don't think they're making them anymore. Fun stuff for doing SBWII with. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte
