So I picked up a huge Supro amp today. I do not know the model as the faceplate is beat up bad. It has a huge 15in Jensen and the bell sticks like 3in out of the back of the amp. Dual 6l6's. Looks like it will be a monster harp amp. It will need work though. Original owner used it until he passed away recently and his daughter was selling. Kicker is she said he has piles of old mics so hopefully I will get a crack at them too. Anyways this is a super cool supro amp. Maybe someone can give me some info on. Pretty sure its an early thunderbolt. I think its 1956 or so.

Haha dont be so quick to move here it kinda sucks. But if you got time and wanna drive in the towns around knoxville theres shit every where. This is my second Supro out here I got a mint 1624t at a flea market for real cheap. If someone is interested in it I will sell as-is. I worked on it for the last hr changed both pre amp tubes and sprayed everything and I got sound. It is gonna need a cap job etc.. but inside the amp is real clean. All original. It really is amazing whats behind closed doors out here. I can see the letters 69tn i think of the model number. I am guessing it's a thunderbolt of similar. 5u4, 6l6, 6l6, 12ax7, 12ax7, 12ax7 HUGE transformers

Heh man. It's a Supro 1696TN. Exact circuit as the supro 1690 coronado? model, that had 2x 10's instead of the single 15.
Get it cleaned up and on ebay and let the guitar players argue about which supro jimmy page used! :)
cool amp

Haha you are right nice call man!! Thanks thats exactly what it is. Just googled it. Not too much info on it. I have never seen one of these go for sale. It seems I am missing the white logo on the front. Thanks for the help. This suckers gonna be a good harp amp I bet. 15in speakers just kick ass.

Yeah, they are totally cool. The VEGA branded version is really killer looking also.
I've owned 3-4 of them in different cosmetic arrangements... But I could never quite get enough balls vs volume out of them for harp personally. Yes I agree a 15 can be killer for harp in the right amp setup.
