No harp in it (unfortunately), but this is one helluva version. Probably my favorite role for Samuel L. Jackson. Any guy who spends six or seven hours a day for six months learning to play blues guitar for ONE ROLE earns a good deal of respect from me.

When I first started out playing harp in country bars about 35 years ago Stagger Lee was a country standard. I played it about a zillion times. It was like Mustang Sally for people who wear boots.
This was on Youtube. Not a pro production, but a rendition with harp nonetheless. If you scroll through all of the listings for this song you will most likely find others with harmonica on them. One of my favorite versions is called "Stack and the Devil " by Cephas & Wiggins
One of my favorite versions is done by the Blue Rider trio album Harp, Steel and Guts.
While there is no harp on that song, the rest of the album is full of fantastic playing by Mark Wenner. It is a fantastic approach for acoustic harp playing, and I spent lots of time with it.
There is a great version by Jesse 'Lone Cat' Fuller, in all his 12 string, harp, kazoo, foot drum and fotdello playing glory! Really good take on it and Fullers rack playing is brilliant. ---------- ---------------------- www.josephstrouzer.com
