I went through that a few years back. Sold them for 3X what I paid and bought a Sonny Jr.! Let me know if you decide to sell the Billie Holliday mic (3 pic down, top left)

The BH mic would be a hard sell. It has the original Brush crystal and works perfectly.

@Bigtone

No need to worry folks, I'm sure Bigtone will see the humor in that...

45 yrs playing and all i own are shure- 545, 57,and 58 . i never liked any type of bullet mic,i always thought they took up too much space, not enough breathing room around the mic.anyhow you got a university worth of collectables,do it...

Yeah, I recognized them as Dennis G's -- so I guess my questions was a disguised way asking if you were Dennis using a pseudonym!
I guess not!

Nice collection; too bad you're missing a real special one; the super rare, made in Australia Dynamax

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121058287418&item=121058287418&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466

mine has the original black crinkle paint on the body and perfect chrome on the grille

I see your a bit light on with Turner Challengers too.

@didjcripey - you're such a one up-er, lol

I know, I am missing a lot of mics I would love to own, the Dynamax being one of those. Would love to see a picture of yours.

I wish I had Dennis's collection. That is a very impressive collection.

I think I had more money than sense when I was buying all these mics. Now I have slightly more sense than money and I don't have much of either anymore...

@Mojokane - Glad I could help your day. Hope that 707a works out for you.

@Greg - I might selling some of the black CR's. Haven't made up my mind on that...

@Shabam: I'd be surprised if anyone could seriously one up that collection.
Seeing yours made me feel better about the big investment in my modest collection.

In hindsight, I could have done with a couple less obscure ones, and at least one good black label Cr

O..M..F..G!!!! You guys are crazy! It wasn't too long ago I began a journey that may have ended up with me having an ADDICTION as bad as you with some sort of collection, and maybe a divorce! But alas...I did what I now definitely believe was the right thing and had Greg build me this.......
https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/309858_297529163606679_159499544076309_1308787_2042814722_n.jpg?w=AACBAZC8owDtMkRYTZrTIKh6QfUs83Snquj9m3RJvItjDA
which now has me convinced I got the grail early on ........(but maybe one of thoses black elements would top it off..) See! I'm still just as crazy as you guys!

In hindsight, what I have spent on trying so many different mics would have bought me one of Gregs best, and some change for an amp
but
I've really enjoyed the process, and learned plenty about mics, basic electronics, blues and communications history and the importance of microphone technique in the quest for tone.
and
I've found the one that has the mojo for me.

I went through a stage of collecting mics. I sold them all on eventually as I personally believe they should be used and not sat round gathering dust. The things I found out over the years was that I find the JT30 and Turner Challenger shells more comfortable to hold compared to all the other bullet shells. Either a good crystal or ceramic element (mighty hard to find these days) or a good CM are my preferred elements. I don't care that much for CR's. A good stick mic like the 545 or RE10 is easily as good as any bullet. Ultimately though the biggest thing I discovered was that I can work with any decent mic and get a sound I'm happy with. I also discovered the same thing with amps. Once I did I became a lot less obsessed with gear. These days I only own a JT30 with a very strong MC151 in it (which I got for an absolute steal!) and an SM57. Of course if the crystal dies on me then I'll get a CM to replace it. I might also at some point get another good stick mic (585/545) but I don't feel that I need anymore than that really.

I'd like to know where these are found, besides ebay. I've dug through dusty places for years and haven't come across much at all. I live in the southeast US so that may be a factor.
