Need help with the Renegade Theme song.Told by a reliable source Lee Osker key of G,& key of C,standard out of the box tuning is what was used for that recording.I didn't seriously work on it yet to prove or disprove that info.Anybody have it figured out yet?

If it´s that show with a mullet haired dork running around on a motorcycle (I don´t dare to embed from YT, having just fialed four times in a row ...) you don´t need Lee Oskar in particular, but I believe the main part is in D on a G harp, and then he switches to C, 3 pos at the end.
I can be more detailed if you wish.
Ed. I mean a C harp, still key of D.

Harponica: Since I´m at home and knocked out by a cold I decided to take a closer look; also kind of like that theme. (Played be Stanley Behrens, I´m was told once.)
My take is this: at 1:03 he switches from a G to a C harp for exactly 20 seconds, then back to C (it´s repeated at the end).
The switch is to quick to be performed manually so I´d say there´s some studio editing at work.

You mean I can't perform this song out live with standard tuned harps, its a studio take only?

I'm stick'n to what I suspected in the first place when I attempted this song long ago and shelved it.A special tuned harp, somebody got the file out and gave it the needed notes.I 'm think'n @ 1:04 switch the custom tuned harp comes in.I'm sittin here with just a F Folk Master (by the way is starting to amaze me for its durability, ebay $10 a stick)so transposing is what I'm doing but I should still be able to feel the song,I've dug all the way to China lookin for the notes,Nuda.

No no, I´ve played it on standard tuned S 20´s. What I mean is that the note at 1:23 into the song (a D) follows so very quickly from the preceding hole 4-5 warble on the C harp that it´s very hard to change harps that fast. In so far "studio editing".
Don´t believe there are any special tunings involved here.

(Yepp, them earlier Folk Masters had serious durability. Not so anymore in my experience.)

I thought three draw would produce the needed notes, like as if hidden there and just waiting, waiting.Untill I get a G,and aC harp and seriously sit down with this I can't really comment. But from past attempts the notes were always elusive, and I would always move on.Sad to hear about the newer Folk Masters ,this one came from someones harp case at a pawn shop I picked up with some others, they are all dead, and this F still responding in all holes will not die,and I am tough on harps.

Ok,nobodies touchin this. Can either mean ridiculously easy or terribly tuff, which is it.I don't have a G,or a C harp to try it.Find it on you tube,Renegade theme song. Was told by reliable source you must have a G & C harp.

@Harponica: I believe I WAS touching it. Don´t wanna get tiresome and repeat myself here, but as you can surmise from what I say above, your reliable source is indeed reliable: the player IS switching between a G and C harp.
That´s the ticket for making it work.

It´s neither ridiculously easy nor terribly tuff but, once you´ve understood that you have to switch harps and where you have to switch harps, it´s, say, intermediate level.

If I hade the gear I´d be happy to record it for you, but I don´t, so just take my word for it.
If you have tried with the G and C harp and can´t make it work, just ask.

I hear you Martin, and I do appreciate the advice.I'm sure if I was sitting here with the correct harps I might have it down by now,but its really amazing me nobody is touching this exercise. Its a great little instrumental piece .It really throws you off if you think one regular tuned harp is going to handle the whole song.Stanleys a genuous for putting this little ditty together.
