So I just opened my Musician's Friend January catalog to the harmonica page....and lo and behold, they have the Deuce and a Quarter in A going for $40 right now. I can't post a link to it here at work, but I can tell you the item number is 502508.
There's my Merry Christmas gift to you fellas! ;-)

A deuce and a quarter used to be an Electra 225, but I have a feeling we aren't talking Buicks.

LOL. I thought the same thing when I first saw the harp. But man it's a nice looking harp, and the ones I've heard on YouTube are pretty sweet sounding too. ----------

That was the harp of choice for TNFrank.
It's an MS harp. ---------- The Blues Photo Gallery

"That was the harp of choice for TNFrank."
Now that's funny. Not knowing who TNFrank is/was, I went googling and found something really funny.
"Biker Bar Harp":) Some day, when warm weather returns, I will have to take & post a picture of my Kawasaki with my Peavey Triumph strapped on the back as I head out to a Biker Bar Jam with a box full of Suzukis.
I fear I may very well be the Biker Bar Harp poster child.
No intent to highjack your thread Hawk. the Musician's Friend website still has the 225 up @ $54.99. Nice looking harp. If it is indeed an MS, $40 seems about right. It's a shame the MS reed plates underwent such an enormous price increase.

"Heavy-duty chrome reed plates (2.25 mm) Key of A"
Is it chrome reed plates with brass reeds? Not an MS harp. Now it's $60

The catalog had price of 59.99 with a $20 instant rebate. Course with it being the January catalog, that might not be available til then, and maybe only via phone and not online. ----------

("I hope that TNFrank wasn't the same guy contributing to the Glock forum:") What was wrong with his post on the Glock forum? I read it and it appeared to me that he was giving correct advice on crimping. ---------- Wisdom does not always come with old age. Sometimes old age arrives alone.

That's a hobby that has been put in the closet. I used to reload my own 22/250 rounds. It was amazing how you could improve the accuracy of target loads. By floating my barrel and tweaking my loads I went from just about a half dollar size group down to a dime size at 100 yards. Wait we were talking about black and chrome hohners, sorry.
I just looked and they're $39.99

the chrome plated reed plates work best on any of the MS series. i have a pro MS i really like w/ those plates. if you emboss/burnish them the brass often shows through the plating And yes, the reeds themselves are brass.
i think i fixed Hawks Deuce, i know that i fixed someones, but fail to recall the chrome plating. so many harps, so little time..... ---------- MP affordable reed replacement and repairs.

Not mine....I've never had one, though I craved one since I first laid eyes on it. Maybe you're thinking of my Blue Midnight? Mark, aren't those plates the same ones they put in the Meisterklasse MS?

that's right. i did your Blue Midnight. i've only had one cup of coffee so far...please bear w/ me.
i did someones Deuce and now i remember what it looks like. Black covers, Chrome plates. a Real looker. yes, the Meisterklasse plates are chrome but work best on less expensive MS harps. Meisterklasse full length covers dull its expressiveness to my ears. ---------- MP affordable reed replacement and repairs.

This far into the thread without mention of swapping harps for beef jerky across international borders? I wish TN hadn't gotten to the delete button on so many of his posts. There were some classics. Merry X-Mas TN. Merry X-Mas NOD.
