Hi,
I want to share mi experience about cupping.

I have an issue whit my tube amp, so I ended up pluging my mic to an old SS bass amp (Marshall MKII B25) that my girlfriend use.

I was please to hear a nice sound out of it. Is not like my tube amp, but is a good sound overall.

Before my tube amp, I used this amp, but the sound was harsh and thin. But when the tube amp arrive I start playng amplified almost every day, and start using the "thumbs up" aproach. My cupping technique improves a lot on that time, but I realize how much when I use the bass amp.

A good cupping technique is really important in terms of sound. I learn that you can get a good sound of any amp if your technique is good enough.

Now I am practicing the hand efects whit a mic, and that is a hole other story. (the first time that I tried to make a wah, I droped the mic!)
