I play harmonica with my friend Markku Sainmaa who plays all the other instruments.
Seydel 1847 harp in C played through a cheap vocal mic I took away the ball from to get closer to the element to get a distorted sound. I put a small piece of bicycle tube over the element for protection but it also gave the mic a more focused sound with punch in the bottom and more bite. No amp was used, I was directly connected to Vocals processor into digital recording equipment.
awesome! I love that song, and I never would have thought to play it on harp, but of course you would be the one to do it, Hakan! It sounds great!
Actually, the patch you have on your vocals processor, combined with that mic, makes you sound a lot like the horn section of a Ska band, but with more "cojones"! :) ----------
Thanks for your comments about my new video. Ska, that sounds interesting to try! Maybe this is Ska? I don't know. It was a very wicked backing track Markku put together for us.
WOW! Neat to contrast and compare the 2009 vid with the 2012 version. You are bringing it Hakan. Triplets, vibrato, scale runs all up and down the harp. Sweet. (like the Doctor imitation at the end)
My boys opened for the Misfits couple years ago. I'm sure they would have loved you playing with them Jason. ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz
Hakan: I really like what your doing here. Maybe I can steal a couple of your chops and play along with my Sons. They have moved on to Ska music, so I'll have to compete with a couple horn players. ---------- And I Thank You !! KCz Backwoodz Bluz
Hawk!! Hawk!! You're my hero. When I grow up I want to be just like you. I'm practicing my Swedish accent. I watch the Swedish chef on Sesame Street reruns.
