thanks KC69! I am really excited about this gig. The Center for Disabilities is bringing 15 or so of their adult clients and they are the craziest dancers on the planet. I am taking a nap before this one! Walter

Walter - just now listening to your song - "Can't Get Out of this War" - just great song writing, singing and harp. I was wondering if there are any videos of you from your long ago life as a blues musician on youtube or elsewhere?

Rgsccr: Thanks! I will have to listen to that song. I don't remember it. I really don't remember a song for more than a few hours after I do and even then I just remember the vibe, not the beat, words, etc. If you are refering to my days playing with the old bluesmen, there are no videos that I am aware of. Back then a video was a big deal production. Hardly anyone had a video camera outside of the pros. On my youtube channel are some older clips but not with any blues guys. I don't even have that many pictures. Again, cameras were a rare thing and when people did take them it was most likely by the time they got them developed you would be long gone from that town. It took exchanging addresses, and mailing a picture. Now it is just click and its there. Also most of the old guys went on auto pilot when people asked for pictures with them. Lots of people would come backstage or to our table with a camera person and ask for a picture with the old guys. They would put their arms around them and then those guys would develop the picture, put it on their wall at home and tell everyone they were best friends....... I never bothered to ask them for a picture together because it tended to create distance instead of closeness and I never had a camera as well :-) Here is one with Albert Collins and Lonnie Brooks. I was playing with the Albert Collins band and this shot is from the Lone Star Cafe in NYC. Walter

here is one with Buddy Bowser at the other end in NYC. Buddy was a great bluesman that made a name playing sax with the NY Dolls.

these are the guys that taught me about the blues, performing, and surviving the streets. Most are dead and or in prison.
