I thought I'd learn Early in the Morning from Charlie Musselwhite's 1967 album, Stand Back. Sounds like a straight ahead 2nd position blues tune that's not too hard. I know it's in the key of A. Trouble is, the high and the low notes aren't on my regular D harp. Low notes are there on a loD but the highs aren't high enough. All the notes are there on a G in 3rd position, but the song is really hard that way.
Try an A harp and blow on the 1 hole. That's your tonic note. 1st position has a distinctive sound. Experienced players can hear it right away.

I Learnt 1st and 2nd position at the same time and 3rd came naturally later on so go learn some control on the top of your A and G harps. Listen to osme Jimmy Reed for som ideas.
First position only make sense to my in the high register. I just cant get that 2 hole notes to work, not mention the low root. I just don't keep at it enough I guess... ---------- Pistolkatt - Pistolkatts youtube
