Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knows about the Fender Princeton '65 amp that doesn't carry the reverb part of the name. I've heard it's a good amp as well, but is this a tube version? I've seen a 12" speaker version that seems to be solid state. Is this one comparable or is it not very good?

Patrick, There is a Princeton 65 which is SS and then there is the 65 Princeton (no re verb) which is a tube amplifier. I owned a Princeton 65 briefly a few years ago. Not too impressed. I currently own a SF Princeton Re Verb which is a pretty decent harp rig. I have read that the non re verb Princeton is very good for harp.

The non-reverb blackface Princeton from the 1960's is indeed a very good harp amp. Big Walter used that amp.

Yes that is a bit misleading of fender to have the ss Princeton 65 and the valve 65 Princeton reverb reissue. I'm really only posting so my sf pr can get its photo in this thread though 8') ----------

I own a vintage Princeton non reverb silver face. It is excellent for harmonica. Brian Purdy wanted to trade me one of his HarpGear amps for it. ---------- The Iceman

Does anyone happen to know what differentiates the circuit of the non reverb and reverb SF Princeton?
