They were playing there last night and in a local bar on Tuesday night. I wasn't recording but it was an intense feelin being in the presence of that many world class harmonica players.

Last night, while I was down at the hotel for the "free to the public" show, my wifey was at home scoring me a pair of these on ebay..,

And then to top it all off, I ran into a frend from high school who I have not seen in 30 years.

Needless to say, being slightly superstitous, I took this all as a sign and decided to take tomorrow off and go down there and buy the 1 day ticket.

"Georgia On My Mind" -- lobby jam at SPAH, August 15, 2012, Irving TX.

Grant Osborne has the first solo on chromatic, followed by Jelly Roll Johnson (diatonic, beginning at 0:30); Scott Albert Johnson (diatonic, 1:23); Charlie Spranklin (chromatic, 2:18); Slim Heilpern (chromatic at 3:11, and guitar throughout); Harris Simon (diatonic, 4:05); and Sam Friedman (diatonic) and Joe Leone (diatonic) taking it home through the outro beginning at 4:57. SAJ on vocals.

Sorry for the lousy vid and so-so audio quality. Watch for special guests walking by.

Scott Albert Johnson - harmonica

Billy Citrin - mandolin

Johnathan Citrin - guitar

So we were trying to get on the roof of the Westin D/FW at SPAH 2012 to have a jam by the pool at about 1:30 AM, but it was locked. So we walked into the exercise room and jammed anyway. Billy is from St. Louis and now lives in Mexico... he can play the absolute hell out of anything with a string... and so can his nephew Johnathan, playing guitar here. A few minutes later we went downstairs (along with Johnathan's dad and Billy's brother Jeffrey) for a massive acoustic jam with a bunch of killer players. Just another great SPAH moment.
