Just wanted to let everyone know about something cool I noticed on Chris Reynolds' site this evening.

Looks like he's offering a great deal on DIATONIC Corian combs, which are available for immediate shipping. As you know, Chris doesn't normally offer diatonic combs in Corian, so here's a chance to get them, and at a great price - $20. Looks like all the combs have rounded tines.

I bought one myself, and learned that these are on a first come, first serve basis, and what's pictured on the site is all he's got in stock. So, once these are gone, they're gone. I consider Chris' combs to be some of the absolute best combs in the business, and this is rare opportunity to get them in Corian.

Here's the link:

I rarely bump threads, but this is a pretty good deal, so here it is again in case you missed it. Nothing in it for me - I just wanted everyone to have a chance to take advantage of a good deal.

Got my comb today and it's really nice as always. Chris does amazing work. Wish he offered Corian all the time.

Again, I found Hetrick's combs to be inferior. I'd say they're worth about $5 when you consider the amount of work you have to do to make them usable. And Matt Smart's attempts at bashing Tom Halchak and others on this forum and other places in the past really did it for me. He showed his true colors and apology or not, I will never buy anymore of his combs.

I should have known this thread would be hijacked. I sure hope this doesn't get ugly.

A lot of people make nice combs, and I've tried just about all of them. Chris is just a good guy and has been a good friend to me through the years. I don't get free combs or anything like that. I truly endorse his products from the heart, and because I feel that they are among the best combs around IN MY OPINION and based on my experience. Joe Spiers used them exclusively before he starting making his own, so ask Joe if you don't want to take my word for it.

Hetrick makes good combs, Halchak makes good combs, Randy Sandoval makes great combs too. If anyone cares to debate combs, start your own thread, but don't do it here please.

Todd. Sorry to contribute to the sidetracking of this thread but I'll be brief and move on.

My comments are not in response to anything you've said Todd.

Learning to Reed. Thank you for your support. It's nice to know you've got my back. For the record, Matt and I had a nice long conversation last month. I harbor no Ill will towards Matt. He apologized last summer and that was and is good enough for me.

As Todd has stated, there are a lot of guys out there who make good combs. Being the new kid on the block, I am honored to be included in some of the conversations. I wish all my fellow comb brethren nothing but the best in all they do.

See you at SPAH.

I've have tried combs from Hetrick as well as Sandoval and Reynolds and I think that they are all great. I use Hetrick combs regularly, and find them very reliable.

Corian is a great comb material regardless of whom you purchase from, so please jump on these great deals.

I'm quite ignorant about replacement combs. I was looking at the MB1896 combs and trying to figure how They attach to plates and covers. I can't see it. They seem to just be drilled with one hole at each end.

I consider Matt from Hetrick a friend. In fact, we are staying together at SPAH and doing a seminar or two together.

I use a lot of his combs...I've tried everything I can get my hands on choose to use Hetrick combs on my customs (and Sjoebergs when I can get them).

I do, have combs on my personal harps from all listed in this thread, but over half are from Hetrick...GREAT stuff.

I should add that their customer service is first rate (and so are the others listed here), and I am sure if you had an issue with a comb, he'd take care of you. Just sayin'.

@1847 - I was referring to the thread becoming a thread to debate combs. No worries.

@SuperBee - I think he leaves them undrilled in case someone wants to change the hole pattern. He sells Marine Band Deluxe combs which are drilled, but since regular Marine Bands are assembled with nails, he leaves them undrilled.
