If I worried too much about grammar and spelling too much billy_shines, I wouldn't be able to read 99% of the posts on this forum. English spelling is stuipd anyway. Mice, mikes, mics, Nikes, enough rough, bough, ought, brought...

Edited to hose down the 99% figure. Let's say, "80% of the stuff on the net". I was being loose with figures. My bad.

The english language is so mysterious. Miking comes from the word microphone - so why isn't it mic'ing? You can also measure something with a micrometer. And that is also miking. Makes no sense.

To me, miking would be subjecting someone to a guy named Mike.

It's not an official word so there is no 'correct' spelling other than the one you choose. Also, an example of a wind-up.

Also, it's not CON-summate pro. It's con-SUM-mate pro.
CON-summate is the verb. Con-SUM-mate is the adjective.
I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a long time before the grammar police kick somebody's door down.

"I never had any large respect for good spelling. That is my feeling yet. Before the spelling-book came with its arbitrary forms, men unconsciously revealed shades of their characters and also added enlightening shades of expression to what they wrote by their spelling, and so it is possible that the spelling-book has been a doubtful benevolence to us."

"Those who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones."

I like this expression, never heard before. I'll use it eventually !
