Hey Adam,
any update on when the film is going to be released? I've watched the youtube clip several times now and it just makes me want to watch to whole thing in fact the whole 100 hours that the website says V. Scott Balcerek has recorded.

Hi Adam
Is there a reason for to take the docu link and shove among all the other links on your link page?
Btw. there's lots of snow down here...makes me think summer might be over...but still hoping...

It's not clear to me when, if ever, Scott Balcerek is going to finish the documentary. Since I have somehow ended up being HIS point man for such questions, and since I have absolute zero control over the whole process, I've decided that a maybe-never-to-be-finished documentary doesn't need a whole page on my website. The preview reel does a fine, quick job of introducing Satan and Adam. So I've created a dedicated page for the act--something the website previously lacked--and I've put it near the top, in a place of honor.

I emailed Scott today with encouragement to release the film. I've been antsy to see it since the trailer was shown in '07, and I'm hoping that '09 is the year to be able to hit a theatre or buy a DVD and see it.

Good news! The Satan and Adam documentary (called, not surprisingly, "Satan and Adam") is suddenly moving forward, and quickly. A new guy, JR, is part of the team, and he's a get-er-done kind of guy.

The website has recently been upgraded. There's a newly tweaked HD version of the same trailer that's been around since 2008, and it incorporates some recent stuff. Plans are to finish a rough cut by this September and submit to Sundance, where, if luck has it, it will premiere next January. I have been cynical about such claims for a long, long time. But now I am cautiously optimistic.

Isn't there a kickstarter? a hat or shirt or something?

I would throw something in the bucket for the cause

There's going to be an Indiegogo campaign at some point this summer. I'll certainly spread news of that, when it happens.

I can't believe it's been 8 years since that post. I'll be honest Adam ( and extremely cynical) but I thought the production company would wait until something happened to Sterling before releasing it but he has proved to be a very strong man. It's great that they are thinking of releasing it now and I can't wait to see it. And I mean to offend no one with the comment abovementioned.

Hope it comes to fruition.
I remember my then girlfriend who was a fan of U2 showing me this clip of Satan & Adam (in fact anything with a harmonica players or blues I would be directed towards...bless her) in the U2 movie but I'm afraid to say I was just at the end of my 'if it ain't black, it ain't blues' period (for some unconscious reason I made an exception for Butterfield, Musselwhite and Harmonica Frank Floyd) although I liked the raw street sound of Sterling I thought Adam was a really modern sound!!! Lol, I was not wrong because after getting into William Clarke and Rod, Lamby and all the rest I still felt that along with Sugar Blue and some others Adam was the new sound of blues harp!

Actually, it's funny now with Adam doing all those Youtube vids and his dedication for furthering harmonica and the blues, back in the late 80's and onwards I was so much into those modern cats that wanted to preserve and keep alive the Chess sound mixed with west coast blues but I do remember meeting other harp players and Adam's name always came up for his obvious great chops and using OBs but I only ever owned the Harlem Blues CD which to me was alright ,not really my bag , even though they had that raw sound the harp seemed so modern. I have never really ever moved away from my love of listening to early blues, chicago blues and the west coast sound and the influence of all those cats, but you can't deny the huge impact of Adams playing on a ton of harp players and his whole YouTube thing that he does and his thing on here connecting with novices and pros, his day job, family etc. really ton of respect for the guy he deserves to have a documentary made about him and Mr.Satan. Not trying to blow smoke up his ass or nowt but the truth is the truth!

Whatever happened to U2?

Just kidding!
